Certainly the most stunning bay in Corsica, the Gulf of Valinco is renowned for its 40 kilometres of magnificent sandy beaches with crystal clear water. They are totally unspoilt, eclectic, either family-friendly or wild and hidden, some accessible only on foot or by boat; each is a gem.
The deep Gulf of Valinco is very popular with divers. This is a paradise offering a whole range of water activities including: sub aqua diving, (famous landmark dive sites are the Cathedrals, the Garden and its black coral, the Needles, etc.), windsurfing, canoeing, kayak, jet ski, water skiing, fishing as well as boat trips for admiring the Gulf shores which are inaccessible by car.
This area offers a perfect mix of fun and relaxation for an unforgettable holiday whether you are a couple, family or group of friends. There are a whole host of activities for everyone: quads, mountain biking, treetops adventure courses, via ferrata and canyoning at Baracci Natura Park, donkey trekking (adored by children) in the Corsican ‘maquis’, horseback rides on Cupabia Beach, climbing, tennis, sports and fitness facilities, parachute jumps from Tavaria Aerodrome, mini-golf, Olva Nature and Wildlife Reserve (botanical trail, farm, pony rides), river swimming at Spin’ A Cavaddu and the Zoza Natural Pools.
The region is a starting point for two hikes: the ‘Mare a Mare’ South trail (over 5 days, from Propriano to Porto Vecchio passing through Alta Rocca and Ospédale) and the ‘Mare e Monti’ South trail (also over 5 days, from Propriano to Porticcio). Both cross through the most picturesque villages of the island (each stage has a stopping off point in a village). There are also a wide range of family-friendly walks suitable for everyone along the coast or in the mountains.
